East Cobb Park Would Be Negatively Impacted and Less Green Space Would Be Available
If the proposed Isakson Living development were allowed to proceed, East Cobb Park and Sewell Mill Creek would suffer, and less green space would be available to students. East Cobb Park is already very heavily utilized and the ratio of green space to the population in East Cobb is very low, easily seen from the Cobb County Parks list and Cobb County Trails list. That is one reason why the Tritt property was highest on the list of potential properties to be purchased by Cobb County during both the 2006 Park Bond and the 2008 Park Bond procurement process. Overall, the loss of green space next to East Cobb Park for future generations to enjoy would be very disappointing. Most people in East Cobb still hope the Tritt property can be purchased as a Park.
